You may only be someone in the world, but to someone else, you may be the world.

Wednesday’s Word from the Mount 8/12/15

August 12, 2015

Good day and welcome to another edition of Wednesday’s word from the Mount,

I want to address the importance of having the right mind. The reality is that our minds will dictate to the world our values as a person. As a matter of fact, if your mind is visiting a distant land, so it is with your life as it wanders from place to place in search of what controls it. You do remember in the Gospel of Mark 5:1-19 , where a mad man was out of control because of his mind. He was possessed by an evil influence that had him doing things out of the norm. In other words, his mind was filled with the wrong spirit that had him doing the wrong things. It is without question that what controls the mind controls the heart, the seat of all reasoning. It’s no wonder Paul made clear to the Church at Philippi the importance of having a Christlike mind that will determine the value of a person’s character. Look at what he penned in Philippians 2:5, “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” My brothers and sisters, make sure your conscience is clear as you display the right mind because your actions will speak louder than your words.

Until next time, feed your mind and your faith with the provisions of God’s word.

In Christ,
Rev. Dr. Tony C. Person
