You may only be someone in the world, but to someone else, you may be the world.

Wednesday’s Word from the Mount 2/25/15

February 25, 2015

Good day brothers and sisters.

Welcome to another edition of Wednesday’s Word from the Mount:

I want to invite each of you into the livingroom of faith where our works are being interrogated by the world; in which we must give God the best of our service.  Galatians 6:9-10 even alludes to this, “And let us not be weary in well doing; for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  As we have opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”(KJV)

We must be cognizant of the fact that there are many reasons that people get “weary”.  Sometimes, we get tired of working without any thanks where we are unappreciated; or when it seems like nothing is getting better despite our hard work; and then there is always someone on the sidelines of “do-nothing” ready to critique our efforts.

I think I need to assure you that criticism is good because it serves as an inspector of our discipline. What this means is that as a disciple you will be tried and tested. Therefore no matter the reason, we must guard against the urge to give up. God deserves our steadfast devotion to whatever assignment(s) he has given us.

The reality is that God is blessing us and that’s what we must remember at all times when we become confronted with weary and worry. My friend, don’t you give in to naysayers who will taunt our best efforts. Look to the hills from whence comes your help.

As I close this edition, let me leave you with this: when things seem difficult and they will, lean on God for renewed strength and remember it’s not about us, them, they, him or her; it’s about Christ.  He deserves your very best!

Co-laboring,

Rev. Dr. Tony C. Person
